The 2006 recital will benefit NOBA, New Orleans Ballet Association.

What is NOBA?
http://www.nobadance.com/explore.cfm/aboutnoba

NOBA continues to provide tuition-free, year-round comprehensive dance programs in Orleans, St. Bernard, and Jefferson Parishes for youth ages 6-18 and their families through sequential training and ancillary activities as well as provide employment, professional development, and artistic experiences to local artists. Community partners work with the NOBA staff to train artists, plan, sustain, grow and implement programs.

NOBA Provides Relief to Gulf Coast Dance Community
Through a Dance Supplies Drive that was initiated by the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) in October in coordination with the national service organization, Dance/USA, more than $175,000 in dance supplies were collected and distributed completely free to over 800 students and artists in Louisiana and Mississippi. NOBA also shipped donated supplies to children and artists who had been displaced throughout the country. NOBA instituted the drive as a service to the Gulf South region to help those children and artists most affected by the storms. The largest shipment ($100,000 of supplies) was donated by Star Styled Dancing Supplies in Florida. Other donations were received from 60 dance companies, stores, and organizations in the U.S. and Canada, including New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Leo's Dancewear, and others.

"The arts in particular are a great healing tool, and receiving supplies to make that healing happen all across our area has an impact far greater than imaginable." - Renee Chatelain, Baton Rouge non-profit

We hope to see you back in the fall and again we thank you for your support and generosity.

Sincerely,

Roni Blak
